NINURTA Illustrations by Denta-san
Ninurta getting ready for his journey to defeat Anzu in Chapter 1.
The story is based on the Anzu myth. Anzu had stolen the Tablet of Destinies from the supreme god Enlil. He was using it for his personal gain, brainwashing the humans into worshipping him. It was up to the god Ninurta, his weapon Sharur, and their comrades to take the Tablet back and free the world from Anzu’s tyranny!
Ninurta and Asag in the myth Lugal-e, briefly mentioned in Chapter 3.
The demon Asag was poisoning the rivers and spreading diseases, destroying the Earth with the help of stone warriors from the mountains. Ninurta defeated him with Sharur and Enlil’s help.
Ninurta and his wife Gula from Chapter 4.
The goddess of healing, Gula was always worried for Ninurta’s safety and well-being. She wanted him to stay safe and protect him as much as she could. Ninurta loved his sweet wife dearly.
Denta-san’s summary of Chapter 5.
Gula and the Seven Winds joining him, Ninurta now had powerful allies. They continued their journey to find and defeat the evil Anzu together.
Anzu using the Tablet of Destinies to brainwash innocent humans and children into fighting for him in Chapter 6.
He was planning to use his brainwashed army to storm the abode of the gods and overthrow Enlil. Ninurta and the others found it hard to fight Anzu’s men without hurting them, putting them in a difficult situation.
Sharur turned into a soft, fluffy doll by Anzu in Chapter 7.
He might not be usable as a weapon now, but Sharur still intended to continue supporting Ninurta in his battles.
In Chapter 8, after hearing about Ninurta’s defeat, Enki came to give him some advice. Being the god of knowledge, he was able to get Ninurta’s fighting spirit back.
Ninurta thinking of strategies to defeat Anzu in his final battle in Chapter 9. He successfully made use of his friends’ abilities to the fullest.
