Chapter 5: Endless Night

English Summary

The Black Swan kids woke up to the noise of monsters storming their dorm. Woken up by Sola, Rhyme was shocked to see the number of monsters outside their bedroom window. The monsters had defeated the dorm’s bodyguards and were breaking in. All the kids gathered on the first floor to fight them.

The battle went on well as everyone were powerful S-Rank hybrids. However, a menacing dragon appeared and grabbed Pukeko, trying to run away with her. The kids tried to stop it in vain. Angered at the dragon, Kanna activated his blood boost and powered himself up, eventually managing to slay the dragon and save Pukeko.

However, the blood boost took its toll on his unstable bloodline, slowly turning him into a dragon. The others looked for their vaccine supplies in panic, but they seemed to have been crushed during the battle with the monsters.

Luckily, Hee-chan, Anjou and the seniors arrived just in time with some vaccines. Kanna was saved and things calmed down.

Anjou explained that a powerful dragon seemed to have broken into the college premises, locking the entire college away in a Nibelungen, the dragon’s domain. All the teachers and seniors had gathered at the student dorms so they could put up a barrier to protect the students.

Unfortunately, the dragons managed to take some students hostage prior to their arrival. Anjou urged the Black Swan kids to help save them and stop their leader, since they had the power to do it as S-Rank hybrids.

Some of the kids weren’t sure about lending a hand, since they didn’t want to see each other get hurt. But upon learning that the kind Munico was one of the kidnapped students, they decided to help.

Time seemed to freeze in this Nibelungen and the school was shrouded in an endless night. Wanting to free the school and take back daylight, Anjou named the operation ‘Code: Daybreak’.
