Synopsis
A cute, funny and wholesome Pokemon fan animation about my Lucario, Ruka. Each mini episode shows a different facet of his personality as he interacts with the other members of Team Rhyme: Caesar the Empoleon, Chouquette the Swirlix, Nini the Sylveon, Happy the Blissey, Zephyr the Zeraora and Apple the Blaziken. He’s also a great help to his Pokemon Trainer, Rhyme!

Artist’s Notes
I haven’t made works about Ruka for awhile although he’s quite a popular member of Team Rhyme, so have this. Happy that I get to spend time with him too by making this series! I actually have bigger story ideas in mind, but I want to practice speaking/recording, and explore making animation a little more first, so I came up with this work.
Like Ruka, I’m also incredibly timid myself, so I’ve always had a fear of showing my voice (I know that I don’t talk well, and I have LOTS of trauma related to expressing myself). Happy that I got some experience and improved a little by doing this project. Will keep doing my best in future videos too until I can bring out my full potential!

- This work is made exactly 3 years after ‘Studying my Zeraora‘ (March 2023). I’ve come a long way! Glad to have known my Pokemon for so long and I’ll continue loving them!
- Ruka actually gets mistaken as a girl a lot by people who first saw him, so let’s say it’s a part of his charm♡

AJ: Tenko, I have a question (this might sound a bit strange, but…) I thought Ruka could speak telepathically, but it doesn’t seem that way in the video. 🙁
Thanks for noticing! The next episode (ep 4) will be about that.
I’m including only 1 single fact about Ruka in each episode so it’s easy to understand for new viewers and there isn’t too much info all at once☆
He also uses telepathy only when he needs to talk to humans, so not all the time.
AJ: Aha…say that before. Oh, and by the way, I’ve finished Ruka’s (theoretical) family tree.
PJ the Pikachu: “She really thinks Ruka is her descendant from Sir Aron’s Lucario.”

AJ: Then go ahead and do it. Ruki (from “Legend of Arceus” Alpa-Lucario) is also Ruka’s and Ruki’s ancestor. I’ve heard Alpa Pokémon are much bigger than normal ones. Ruki and Ruka would look pretty silly.

AJ: Huh? What?… Are you really that good friends with Tenko? Anyway, why isn’t she continuing, do you have any idea?
Nah nothing like that. I just come for comics and a good time, like you. I just mean there’s a video on the playlist that’s marked as “private” (I can’t watch the video, just that there is one). Lots of YouTubers will upload private videos to their channel and then change them to be viewed publicly when they want to release it. From what I understand.
I’m basically just trying to make a joke. (Lots of my jokes don’t land so I’m used to it. Sorry for the confusion.)
But hey I think it’s released now, the one with Zeph.
AJ: That’s okay. I suddenly understood it that way. But really, such cute videos! But when does Ruki come into the video?

AJ: Tenko! FINALLY! I have to tell you something: PJ, my DJ Pikachu, asked a few days ago if Ruki is a bad big brother. I said, “I don’t know.” Is Ruki such a bad big brother?
Well, he protects Ruka all the time when they’re children.
And he doesn’t tell Ruka, but he’s afraid of losing Ruka and is secretly training to get stronger for him 😀
(Both Ruka and Ruki wear a scarf on their arms as a sign of their friendship. Ruki doesn’t throw his away even after he left, so he actually still cares.)
AJ: Phew, what luck! It would be better if they could spend some time together. Auron and Kuro (my two Lucario brothers) always do everything together.
AJ: HUH?? The video about Ruki and Ruka today?
Kuro the Lucario: “So fast? Wow. You’re faster than I thought, Rhyem.”

I think boy is using “meditation” as an excuse to nap. Or maybe he pushes himself really hard for the team and tires himself out. Or has a chronic sleep disorder. Who knows.
And Tenko: Wow, I’m honored you made this with me in mind! I ADORE Ruka, so seeing other people on here talk about him makes me so happy. Speaking of which, I’ve had an idea for a comic about Ruka for a really long time (found doodles/notes about it dating back to 2024) but I just kept procrastinating, but hey, maybe I should try again!)

AJ: Livi, I didn’t know you had comic ideas like mine. I’ve done a couple of “Team Rhyme fan comics.” Recently, I had an idea for “Team Rhyme vs. Team Mimiro-Rhyme”: for the Mega Dimensions of Pokémon ZA. (Team Mimiro-Rhyme uses the same Pokémon, but their characters are different. For example, the original Ruka is timid and kind. Mimiro-Rhyme is aggressive and mean.)
And YES! Make your comic! I’m looking forward to seeing it! I know you can do it!!! 😉

PJ: “Zerel still hasn’t arrived! Rhyme, is he with you?”
AJ: Rhyme… (I only just found out in the new video) You’re not the only one! When I want to sing such cool and sweet songs and hit too high a note, I sound really shrill and everyone hates that. But I’ve always wanted to be on stage, singing and dancing (that’s practically my hobby). But for me, it’s like this… I get embarrassed when I’m dancing alone and someone—or worse—several people are watching.
