Notes:
Part 3 was written in August 2020 as a summary of everything that happened while Club Nidhogg was active from April to August. Our club successfully reached Lv. 3 before disbanding on 15 August 2020. Nidhogg being my first guild, I had a really wonderful experience with my members and everyone I crossed paths with!
(This was written in Japanese because I originally posted it in CDB’s Japanese Twitter community. Read from right to left. English summary below.)
My Experiences as a Club President (Part 3)
Translation:
Nidhogg, a club set up in the Wind of Freedom server in April 2020 and disbanded on 15 August 2020. We’re a comfortable middle-sized club. I, Rhyme, has been the club’s president for 4 months. The experience has changed my life a lot!
Wanting to be a manga artist, I originally started playing CDB to look for inspiration for my original manga, since I was struggling with a massive writer’s block. You can’t play half of CDB’s contents if you aren’t in a club (guild), though. So dragging Solana-san with me, I paid 610 yen and made Club Nidhogg without thinking much.
Little did I know that this 610 yen would be the biggest investment that I’ve ever made in my entire life!
I started out as a huge failure of a club president. Not knowing what to do because I’ve never been in a guild before, I let the club almost die. But because one of my members Baiza-san didn’t abandon me even then, I decided to work hard and improve myself and the club to make things right again.
As I worked on the club’s management, I was thankfully invited to the club president chat group. I got to learn a lot from people more experienced than I was, so I was able to keep improving Nidhogg’s system.
As a result, Nidhogg successfully turned from an unknown, half-dead club into a famous well-loved club. I couldn’t have done it without all my members and people who supported us. Thank you, everyone!
It was really unfortunate that I had to disband the club as my real life was on fire and I had to go back to chasing my dreams. Running a club took a lot of time and effort ;-;
But while the club was active, we managed to accomplish a lot of awesome things, so I didn’t regret sacrificing my real life for it!
Nidhogg’s Accomplishments:
- We reached Lv. 3 as a club!
- Our members successfully made a warm and welcoming environment within the club.
- We shared our happiness with everyone through Twitter.
- We’re loved and supported by even people from other clubs and servers.
- By organizing collab events, we fostered friendship with other clubs.
- While we were active, we made a lot of nice memories.
- I successfully saved the club from being half-dead and returned the favor to Baiza-san by granting his wish!
Things I achieved by being the club president:
- Various skills I can use in real life such as communication skills, leadership, a strong mentality, independence, and many other.
- A beautiful youth! My school days in real life were full of bullying and traumatic experiences, so I was always sad that I never had any nice memories. But by entering Cassel College and creating Nidhogg, it was like I was given a second chance. I was able to live my dream school life!
- An open mind and a new way of thinking. When you run a club, you’d end up talking to all sorts of people. It helped me broaden my horizons and I became much more flexible.
With all the above, CDB has certainly become more than just a game for me. I’ll be super happy if Nidhogg’s members also had something to take away from their experience of being in the club.
As far as I know, our members are all nice people and easy to get along with. So I’m sure they’ll do well no matter where they go even after Nidhogg’s disbandment. I wish them all the best and a lot of happiness!
In the meantime, I’ll continue chasing my dreams of becoming the ‘legendary one’ in real life. I certainly want to become a world-class creator one day!
Nidhogg is filled with beautiful, inspiring memories for me and I’ll keep them with me wherever I go. May all our members have a wonderful new chapter in their lives!
