Pokémon Legends: Arceus Tag
Character sheet for my Hisuian Typhlosion Hinon! Since it’s Arceus, I want to play with the different relationships between Pokémon and humans, so I’ll make my Pokémon’s backstories reflect that. Here goes!
Hinon
A Hisuian Typhlosion who travels the Hisui region with the Survey Corps’ member Rhyme as they carry out the Galaxy Team’s missions.
Originating from the Johto region, Hinon was a newly hatched Cyndaquil when Johto’s monk Minori took down his mother Firestorm. Although Firestorm was a feared Typhlosion who burned down every village in her path, Hinon was just an innocent baby. In an age where humans still viewed Pokémon as hostile creatures, the villagers urged Minori to get rid of Hinon as well, but the perplexed monk refused.
Not sure what to do, Minori cared for the scared Hinon for awhile. Luckily, Professor Laventon passed through the area. Touched by Laventon’s ambition to create a world where humans and Pokémon can live in harmony, Minori entrusted Hinon to Laventon. Fire could both be a bane and a boon depending on how it’s used. Minori told Hinon to go and see the world, feel how it is to be loved, and to not become like his evil mother. Giving Hinon prayer beads as a reminder of that wish, he sent the Cyndaquil on his way.
Laventon eventually traveled to the Hisui region. Hearing that the Galaxy Team’s new member Rhyme would travel Hisui, Laventon told Rhyme to bring Hinon along, as it would fulfill Minori’s wish. But Hinon saw that Rhyme was always anxious as he had just arrived in Hisui. Remembering how Minori would always comfort him when he was scared, Hinon calmed Rhyme down with the warmth of the fire on his back. Rhyme was thankful and gave him the name ‘Hinon’ (火音 / sound of fire), as it was always calming to hear the soft crackling of his flames nearby. The two were inseparable after that as they overcame various difficulties on their journey together.
Being calm by nature, Hinon doesn’t panic even in the most dire situations. With a difficult past behind him, he’s the most mature member in Rhyme’s team and looks after everyone. Hinon sees his mother’s ghost in his dreams sometimes, urging him to give in to his true nature as a dangerous Pokémon, but Hinon refuses. After his adventures with Minori and Rhyme, he wants to show her that Pokémon and humans can live together peacefully. He won’t give up during his survey missions with Rhyme until then.
火音（ひのん）
調査隊員のライムと一緒にヒスイ地方を旅しながら銀河団の任務をこなしていくヒスイバクフーン。
ジョウト地方出身で、ジョウトの僧である泉徳（みのり）が火音の母の炎嵐（えんらん）を退治した頃、火音は孵化したばかりヒノアラシだった。数多くの村を全焼させて恐れられるバクフーンの炎嵐だが、火音は無罪な赤子だった。それでも人がポケモンを恐れている時代で、村人達は火音の退治を泉徳に頼んだ。しかし躊躇していた泉徳は断ることにした。
何をすればいいか分らない泉徳だが、人を怖がっている火音をしばらく世話した。そこで運良くラベン博士がジョウト地方にやってきた。人とポケモンが共に暮らせる世界を作りたいと、ラベン博士の夢を聞いた泉徳は深く感動し、火音を彼に預けた。炎は使い方によって害にも得にもなるものだ。泉徳は火音が世界を旅して、愛されることを経験してほしかった。そしてどうか、邪悪な母のようにならないようと祈った。その願いの備忘
として火音に数珠をあげてから、泉徳は彼を見送った。
それからラベン博士はゆくゆくヒスイ地方を訪ねることになった。銀河団の新人のライムがヒスイ地方を旅すると聞き、ラベン博士は彼に火音を渡した。そうすると泉徳の願いも叶えるだろう。しかし、ヒスイに来たばかりのライムは常に不安だった。それを見た火音は昔不安だった自分をいつも慰めてくれる泉徳を思い出し、自分も背中の炎の暖かさでライムを慰めてあげた。その大人しい火の音を聞くと安心したライムは、彼に「火音」という名を付けて感謝した。その後の二人は旅の困難を全て一緒に乗り越え、信頼し合う相棒となった。
火音は冷静な性格の持ち主で、どんな状況であっても混乱しない性質だ。暗い過去もあって、ライム団の中に彼が一番大人っぽく、周りのポケモンや人に優しく接する。しかし、火音は寝ると時々母の炎嵐の霊を見る。火音の本質は強くて危険な野生ポケモンだと、炎嵐は常に彼に言っている。しかし泉徳とライムと人生を過ごしてきた火音はそれが違うと信じ、母にこれからの人間とポケモンの平和な世界を見せてあげたい。それまでに、彼はライムとの調査任務を諦めないと決めた。
