Pokémon Unite page
Pokémon Unite fanart. I love the New Sheriff in Town battle pass and everyone’s Frontier Style Holowear so much! Everyone has costumes for different jobs and there’s enough world-building in there to imagine a whole movie! At times like these, I really wish Unite has story missions~ Well, since it doesn’t, I ended up doodling a whole comic (storyboard?) with my wild imagination. Enjoy!

Synopsis
In the age of cowboys and outlaws, Aeos was an area at the frontier that, despite being a desert, was rich in gold and natural resources. Its new settlers were intent on working the land and creating a beautiful town there. However, with a powerful outlaw gang eyeing the town’s riches, it was up to the new sheriff to keep Aeos’ peace and safety!
Artist's Notes
This battle pass and making this comic was a fun ride from start to finish for me! I love how a lot of Pokémon have their own Holowear, and as a Zeraora main in Unite, I felt the need to make a fanart of this battle pass. However, I was unfamiliar with the Western genre since I’ve never watched or played any game about it. So I originally intended to make only the poster without any comic, since I was sure I wouldn’t be able to write a good Western story.
But when I posted the poster on Twitter, people who saw it were excited against my expectations! Several even showed me awesome Western works in the comments and I really had fun looking through them. And since their excitement was contagious, I decided to go ahead and make a doodle pile with the stories my overactive brain came up with. (I was super nervous about the story’s quality, so I researched Western tropes and existing works beforehand. They were quite interesting!)
In the end, I managed to doodle scenes for a complete story with a plot (I was quite surprised myself!). Quality aside, I was glad I took on this challenge. The Western genre had always been a mystery to me in the past, but I was able to learn a lot of things through this project and see its awesomeness! Seriously though, this work wouldn’t exist without all the people who cheered on me as I posted the pages on Twitter. Thank you so much, everyone!!
Due to the above process, this work turned into more of a choppy storyboard rather than a proper comic with pages. I’ll see what I can do about it in future works and do my best to keep improving. Thank you so much to Unite for this beautiful battle pass!
