Synopsis
Chouquette is a newborn but brave little Swirlix who’s separated from his parents. He runs into Team Rhyme in Lumiose City. They look for his family together while facing the problems surrounding the city’s newly implemented Wild Zones.

Artist’s Notes
My first video with a proper story structure and plot. Since I came from comics, I want to see if it’s possible to translate my comic skills into a movie format, how long it’ll take, and how well it does. I’m also obsessed with Chouquette, so it’s a nice chance to pour out all my imagination about him. Will do my best and hope you enjoy the squishies!♥
Trivia
- Chouquette is named after a French pastry of the same name. They’re small choux pastries with pearl sugar on top.
- EP1: In Pokemon X, Swirlix can be caught in the wild in Kalos’ Route 7. Route 7’s the longest road in Kalos, stretching along the banks of a river with many flower fields.
- All the Lumiose City backgrounds are from Pokemon Legends Z-A.
- EP2: The food court where Rhyme met Chouquette is located next to Quasartico Inc.’s building in Lumiose City. While I didn’t actually catch Chouquette here, I caught him in the same district (Magenta District).
- EP2: Ruka having a lot of sugar in his coffee is a reference to this video from ‘Team Rhyme Shenanigans’.
- EP2: I originally wanted a Slurpuff, but Chouquette showed me the cuteness of a Swirlix, so I decided to keep him that way.
KAWAII! Chouquette It’s so cute! But the ending… Just the way I like it! Right in the middle of the action! I’m excited to see what happens next. Keep it up, Rhyme!

And I think more animation means more time, right? I mean, you probably spent about two hours on one scene? (I was confused at first because you didn’t post anything. And—I admit—a little angry. Sorry!!! 🥺)
2 hours???
Unfortunately, 1 minute of animation takes 15-20 hours to make, my dear. (And I’m already muuuuch faster than most artists out there with this art quality.)
1 episode (around 6 minutes) takes 100+ hours to finish.
Animate from when you wake up till when you sleep for 8-10 days with no break and no holiday👼✨
AAAAAA! FORGIVE ME 😓🙏!!! I’ve never drawn anything like this before. I mean, on a laptop or anything. I just copy it from the iPad app and then draw and paint it for about an hour!
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW ANYTHING WORKS!!!😭😭😭

2D animation takes hundreds (HUNDREDS!) of pictures to make it look like it’s moving.
Episode 1 is made up of around 100 pictures, episode 2 has around 150 pictures.
Calculate the time you need to draw that many pictures and go crazy 👼✨
Don’t forget that you still need to write the story, voice all the dialogues, look for all the music and sound effects, edit the timing to make everything look good, and then fix all your mistakes until it works.
Do everything alone because you can’t pay for a team, and then don’t get paid even after you finish✨
All you’ll get are compliments and of course, complaints that it’s not good or you’re too slow, and people asking for free requests 🙂
If you see the credits of cartoons that you watch on TV, 1 animation’s usually made by a giant team of 20-50 people or more, so I’m doing 20 people’s job alone.
Other artists will probably take 2-3 months to make one episode of this length and quality even if they’re fast and disciplined, so it’s already super crazy that you’re getting it in around 1 week x_x
AAAAAA! TENKO! NOT YOU TOO! But seriously, I get it! Besides, I asked: a whole DRAWING takes two hours. AND NOT AN ANIMATION! But… I really didn’t know how long it took; that’s information for me now.
Well enough, but keep in mind that I’m already VERY fast and I’m doing this for free, so I’ll appreciate if you’d stop complaining about my posting speed and rushing me to post faster all the time. It’s very impolite, ungrateful, and annoying 🙁
And NO, not even drawings!
Any artist producing decent art will think you’re crazy and get angry if you tell them their art takes only 2 hours.
Without tracing, try to copy any of my pictures with all the lineart, colours and background, and see if you can even finish that copy in 2 hours with the same quality x_x
Only sketches, doodles, speedpaint, super simple pictures, and AI art takes 2 hours.
Real and proper finished paintings can easily take 24 hours or even a whole month depending on the amount of details and complexity.
All drawings that look good, has clean lineart, colours and shading will take minimum 4-8 hours even if the artist is fast, so please respect your artists and don’t think that it’s an easy or quick work 🙁
BONUS: Artists can get paid more than $100 for one drawing, so asking for free art is also considered very rude. It’s like walking to a chef in a restaurant and then asking for free food just because he can cook, so please don’t do that👼✨
Okay, okay. No need to panic. I get it! I’m only at level 1 or 2 as an artist. I’m so, so, so sorry! 😭😭
GOD, RHYME YOU GET SO MUCH BETTER IN ANIMATION, that action escene… the details, so smooth and cute… I really love it!!
Take your time while you’re animating, I already know how hard is it, don’t force yourself, I’ll would be worried if you had an artist block
(And that is why I only draw and the most I do is comics, I’m pretty lazy)

Your animations are so cool and good, I guess that it take a lot of time, I remember my first animation… about warrior cats, it wasn’t good but yours… yours is absol-ute cinema, that explain why you are so talented.
(sorry for asking but… can you give me any tips for the comic? 1 week and I only have 2 pages… how a shame T-T this is so haaaaard)

For comics, you can increase speed by fixing you process, I think 👀
Finishing it page by page is fun, but kind of slow. You can do this instead if you haven’t:
PREPARATIONS:
1) Write the whole plot of the story in text. If it looks too long to draw, keep shortening and summarizing until it looks manageable.
2) Write the script (ALL the dialogues) in text format.
3) Decide your maximum page count (Make sure that it’s a number your current self can realistically finish. Like 3-10. Don’t suddenly go 20-100 pages on your first try XDD. Having no max page count and no deadline is usually the main cause of it never finishing.)
FINAL WORK:
4) Make the storyboard for ALL the pages in one go (Stick figures are ok. Decide all the paneling and write all your dialogues in the comic for all pages. If it bleeds past the max page count you decided, summarize and delete unnecessary scenes/dialogues until it fits.)
Once you have the storyboard, you’ll never get lost again and you just have to autopilot until you finish.
5) Make the rough sketch for all the pages in one go.
6) Lineart for all pages in one go.
7) All the colours in one go if you’re colouring.
8) Done✨

I only have the whole story in my mind just all the others (just the pokemon ones are in paper XD) but I really don’t know how to end it… can I use you avatar Rhyme (Rhyme is an avatar right? or an OC? I really don’t get it… Zepht is an avatar but many people thinks that is one of my OCs heh) and… maybe… Echo? they don’t apear so much, just for a good ending
And about the pages, thanks for saying that I need to make the sketch of all of them, I was making one complete and then I pass with another, I wasn’t sure about doing all and then fix them… Thank you so much!!

Rhyme started out as an OC and I always use him whenever I play games and make fanart, so my gaming friends all call me Rhyme.
As a result, he accidentally became my avatar and inherited lots of my actual personality. I think he’s a bit of both. Me but not me at the same time XD
You can use any of my OCs anywhere anytime without permission♥
For the ending, you can list down multiple ideas in text so your ideas become clearer, and then pick the best one.

In the end, it’s so kawaii! They were only separated at the beginning, and Chouquette tries to play with the Paper- Swirlix. Simply adorable!!
I also noticed a detail: Ruka put too much sugar in his coffee again, which is hinted at in the animations of “Team Rhyme Shenanigans.” KAWAII

Rhyme, I have another question about Echo. When I saw the comic for the adventure “Code: Dragon Blood,” there was another black ghost that looked like Echo. Who was that? Does Echo have a twin brother, or was that someone else? (I’m a bit confused after reading that comic.)
Just Rhyme’s dark thoughts materializing, so not really Echo. It’s a super old comic from before I made them into proper characters, so don’t mind it too much.
